Birthday Shirt

I wanted to make a shirt for Marcelino to be able to wear on his birthday that looked cool on every other day than his birthday but get the message across that he is EXTREMELY excited to be 5 years old. So, I came up with the idea of making a team shirt type shirt with his age as his number on the back and his initials on front. He picked the color of the shirt and I think it turned out great for my first time doing the freezer paper stenciling. I used this tutorial.

This is after I ironed on the freezer paper and did my first coat.

After peeling the paper off.

The front of the shirt had his initals

He picked the color of his shirt:)

Quick & Easy Centerpieces

Last weekend was my mother-in-law's surprise birthday party and my husband recruited me to make some centerpieces for it. We were on a very limited budget and very short notice (12 hours). So, took the 10 dollars I was given to make 7-8 centerpieces and hauled my butt to the dollar store. I was able to make 7 matching centerpieces for 9 dollars n change. They went with the color scheme I was given and it only took me an hour. I just bought alot of fake flowers and little vases for them to go in. When I got home, I seperated them and went to work with my hot glue gun. I think they turned out pretty good for the time/money/effort put into them:) The best part was my mother-in-law loved them and took 4 home and put them around her house. She's so funny!

St. Patricks Day Shamrocks

I tried doing these shamrocks that I saw on HERE but it's been so long since I've sewn that they were more complicated than I was hoping. I used to sew a ton! I was married once before and for that wedding, I sewed all 8 of my bridesmaids dresses! It was crazy but I really enjoyed myself and it was worth they effort. Well, that was 7 years ago and I haven't really touched a sewing machine since. I love to sew but never really had a reason or inspiration. Now, there's a ton of stuff I want to sew. This project just shouldn't have been the first one I tried. So, I gave up after the 4th one. Here is a picture of my best 2.

I used vinyl and split peas. It was super inexpensive to do but I just HATE sewing vinyl. Lesson learned. I will start with fabric to get my skills back on the sewing machine. Not vinyl. >

Wipee Cases

I have been trying to get the idea of these down so that when we do decide on colors, I can make on for baby #3. I will want it to match everything I have so for now, we wait. And I practice and make ones for every person I know that's having a baby:)What do you think?

Beginning of the Craft

I am completely un-original when it comes to my craft expertise but I do enjoy it so I hope to post my accomplishments here:) I've been working on the Wipee Cases lately so I'll post those first:)
